Itinerary
Opt 1 : Sapa Overnight Hotel - Day Bus
( 2days 1 night - group or private tour)
Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa - Cat Cat (L/ D)
06:30 - 6.45 : Pick up at hotel then start departure to Sapa, following Noi Bai - Lao Cai high-way.
Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. Have a short break for 30 minutes then continue the trip to Sapa.
13h00: Arrive in Sapa, check in hotel and have lunch.
Afternoon: Start trekking to Cat Cat village, about 45 minutes walk from Sapa, this is the village of Black H’Mong hill tribe. The village is on the slope of the hill and easy walking, rice and corn are grown here.
Visiting Cat Cat village, you will have a chance to visit a big waterfall on the stream and the old Hydro Electric Power Station built by French people.
Evening: After dinner, you are free to explore the charm of Sapa by night, enjoy roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire or go shopping. Especially on Saturday night, we highly recommend a stop at the Love Market which is one of unique cultures of ethnic minorities HMong, Dzao in Lao Cai in particular and North West of Vietnam in general.
Dinner and overnight at Hotel in Sapa
Day 2: Sapa -Lao Chai - Ta Van (B/L)
09:00: After breakfast, we start trekking down to Lao Chai village of Black H’mong ethnic people. Here we will discover their daily life and how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo... We will visit the biggest valley which provides the best view for golden rice terrace fields in Vietnam. After Lao Chai we walk to Ta Van village of Dzay people. It is a small group of ethnic people in Vietnam with a rich culture and beautiful houses located on rice paddy fields.
Lao Chai & Ta Van Villages, about 8 km from Sapa town, where black H’mong and Dzay people are living, it is also the beginning of the valley which is called Muong Hoa. From a high point of the main road, great view of the whole villages open wide to offer the marvelous panorama views, backed by high mountains and facing the river, discover and visit some Black H’mong families.
We will have lunch with the local houses.
The bus will pick you up from Ta Van village to Sapa Town.
Afternoon: Free time at leisure for shopping or visiting Sapa on your own.
15:00: It‘s time to say “Good bye Sapa!”By luxury limousine bus (5 hours), pick up from your hotel in Sapa and arrive in Hanoi around 22:00.
Drop off at your hotel in Old quarter and drive back to Hanoi. Along the way, once again you have a chance to enjoy the magical beauty of northwest mountains.
22:30: We arrive in Ha Noi.

Opt 2 : Sapa Overnight Hotel - Day Bus

Pick up at the hotel at 20:15 .Transfer to railway station for night train at 21:15 to Sapa
Day 1: Lao Cai - Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta van village - Sapa (B, L, D)
Pick up at the train station when you arrive and transfer to Sapa by a tourist shared bus.Early check in is possible when you arrive if the room available otherwise we will provide you abasic hotel room where you can have shower or relax. Start the trip at 9:30 as below.First start of 6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Conitue a 2km-trekking down to Lao Chai village, through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. Lunch at a local family, it gives you a worth chance for you to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes...on the way. Last trek is about 2Km to the bus stop in Ta van then get back to Sapa by jeep or motorbike. Overnight hotel in Sapa.
Day 2: Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai Village - Sapa (B, L, D)
A walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy picnic lunch by the side of the river, and then next 3 km to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning landscapes before climbing up on the way a jeep to return to Sapa. Overnight hotel in Sapa.
Day 3: Sapa - Suoi Thau - Ma Tra - Ta Phin - Sapa (B, L)
After breakfast, 5km by jeep, visit the red Dzao in Suoi Thau, Ma Tra villages. 9km trekking through the local village, the rice and corn field. Picnic lunch en –route. Reach Ta Phin village where we have chance to learn about the life styles and the custom of the red Dzao minority, enjoy landscapes...then drive back to Sapa. Transfer to Lao Cai for overnight train or luxury limousine bus back to Hanoi.
Advice: Transport from Sapa back to Hanoi
- By the night train (8 hours + an hour transfer from Sapa to Lao Cai). Start from Lao Cai train station at around 20:00 and arrive in Hanoi train station at around 4:10 – 4:45 AM.
- By luxury limousine bus (5 hours), pick up from your hotel in Sapa around 15:00 and arrive in Hanoi around 22:00. Drop off at your hotel in Old quarter (NEW OPTION - HIGHLY RECOMMEND).
